Process Paper and Annotated Bibliography
When my teacher told the class that we would be doing the NHD History Fair Project and what the theme was, I immediately thought of one of the most well known explorers of all time (even if it was just because of a game) Marco Polo. He popped into my head because of that I didn't want somebody that everyone knew everything about, but also that there would be enough information on him that I would be able to conduct research without having to dig through everything.
I conducted research by simply googling Marco Polo and other topics relating to that. When looking at the sites and comparing what they say to make sure some information is correct.
When looking at the categories I could choose, I wanted to narrow it down to the one I think I would do best. The Exhibit was cut out because I worked alone and I feel that would be too much to handle on my own. The research paper was knocked out because I feel that I would lose concentration. Finally the documentary was taken out because I don't have all of the resources I would need to do it to the best of my ability. That leaves the website which is simple and seemed more fun to do.
My project relates to the NHD theme because Marco Polo was a person who with his uncles explored a different route to China and explored the Mongolian/Chinese cultures. He also encountered the people of that area when trading with them and as a liege of Kublai Khan. Marco Polo exchanged goods and knowledge with the people of Kublai Khan's rule.
